Student Research Opportunities
Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium
The 2025 Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held April 22, 2025
The annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is an opportunity for undergraduate students to present what they have learned through their research experiences to the OSU campus community.
The Symposium provides a forum for students, faculty, and the community to share in the research, scholarship, and creative activity of our outstanding OSU students. It also offers the opportunity to examine the connections between research and learning in the academic classroom. The Symposium includes presentations by students from all academic disciplines.
Who May Present?
All Oklahoma State University undergraduate students involved in research, scholarship, and creative activity have been encouraged to participate. The Symposium includes projects from all disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary discourse, allowing students to learn about a broad range of research topics.
Students who are scholars in formal undergraduate research programs (e.g., Freshman Research Scholars, McNair Scholars, Niblack Research Scholars, OK-LSAMP Scholars, Wentz Research Scholars, etc.) are also encouraged to participate in the campus-wide Symposium. (Note: Participation in the campus-wide Symposium is supplemental. It does not substitute for required participation in program-specific symposia.)

Presentation Formats
Students have three options for presentation format: poster presentations, oral flash talks, and performing/visual arts presentations.
Why April 22?
The National Council on Undergraduate Research will celebrate Undergraduate Research Week April 21-25, 2025, and we have chosen OSU's Symposium date to align with the national celebration.
Who May Attend?
We welcome all OSU faculty, staff, and students to attend! Undergraduate students who are not yet involved in research will benefit by attending the Symposium; it is a great way to learn about OSU's broad range of student opportunities. Faculty may wish to bring their class(es) to portions of the Symposium. The event is open to the public, and community members/industry partners are welcome.
Resources
To help participants prepare, the Undergraduate Research Committee will offer abstract writing workshops and resources for preparing presentations (e.g., poster preparation workshops).
