Join NPA as an Affiliate Member
Oklahoma State University is an organizational member of the National Postdoctoral Association. This means that all OSU faculty - including postdocs - can join the National Postdoctoral Association as a free, affiliate member. Affiliate memberships are open to graduate students, postdocs, and staff/faculty/non-postdocs.

2025 National Postdoc Appreciation Week
National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week will be celebrated September 15-19, 2025. Once you join as an affiliate member, you will be able to participate in NPA virtual events throughout the week and across the country to create awareness of postdocs. OPA plans to hold a session for postdocs who are seeking a position in industry; look for announcements in the postdoc newsletter.
2025 Academic Series
Held every July, the OSU Graduate College hosts an Academic Job Market Intensive,
and postdocs are welcome to register and attend. If you will be entering the job market
this cycle, the Academic Job Market Intensive is your go-to summer workshop series
for mastering the search process for a faculty position. Held over four days and including
12 expert-led sessions, you will sharpen your application materials, refine your interview
skills, and gain a competitive edge for landing your first academic position.

The session will cover topics including career resources, effective job search strategies, and provide insights from a recent hiring committee panel.
Session 2: Wednesday, July 16 - Register here
The session will cover topics including CVs, online presence, and using AI in the job search.

The session will cover topics including teaching statements, considerations for teaching intensive positions, and research statement frameworks.

2025 Grant Proposal Writing Workshops
Held every fall, the Division of the Vice President for Resesarch sponsors two district grant proposal writing workshops. Postdocs are welcome and encouraged to register and attend one of the workshops. Promoting Research Excellence Series
In partnership with the OSU Edmon Low Library, the Division of the Vice President for Research has launched a new series of workshops, Promoting Research Excellence (“PRE”) for OSU faculty. The overarching theme of the series is research integrity from inception through dissemination, addressing issues that arise during the life cycle of a research study and providing suggestions for best practices.
