Student Research Opportunities
Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium - Information for Mentors
The annual Undergraduate Research Symposium provides a forum for students to present their faculty-mentored research, scholarship, and creative activity. The OSU Undergraduate Research Committee facilitates and sponsors this campus-wide event. We welcome students from all disciplines to showcase their work at the Symposium. Students not yet engaged in research are encouraged to attend to learn more about getting involved. We hope you and your students will participate in this year’s event!
All accepted student abstracts will be published in the online Symposium Proceedings. Faculty research mentors will be listed along with their students’ abstracts in the Proceedings and will be acknowledged at the presentation sessions. The presentation sessions are intended to stimulate discussion among presenters, faculty, and the general audience. For the flash talk sessions, a moderator will facilitate each session (i.e., introduce each presenter; moderate a 2-minute portion of Q&A following each presentation). If you wish to serve as a session moderator, please email undergrad-research@okstate.edu.
Faculty mentors are strongly encouraged to assist their students with presentation practice or design, particularly students who have not yet presented their work for a general audience, and attend the Symposium sessions.
